Hey 7-8s! We had a great first meet Saturday against the Knolls! Many of our swimmers swam for the very first time in a league meet, and most dropped a lot of time in their events! We had many swimmers swim fly and breast for the first time too, and I know that leads to many DQs, but great effort and we'll keep working in practice! I'm also so proud of the swimmers who displayed such great sportsmanship and stayed in the water to shake hands after their events. Way to go!

Great job Daria Meske and Bianca Meske for swimming their first meet ever! You girls swam so fast, finishing 4th and 8th overall in the 25 free-- wow! We also had some great boys swim the 25 free-- the Gators took 2nd through 6th place with such fast swimmers like Brannon McGowan and Jack Terwilliger! We also had four stellar breaststrokers this meet-- way to go Ryan Kane, Ryan Clifford, Mackenzie McElhiney, and Madelynn Malcolm for mastering those strokes! Finally, way to go Walker Kurtz for taking first in each of his individual events-- the 25 Fly, 50 Free, and the 100 IM!

Everyone did so well, and I know we will all do great at the meet this weekend-- our first league meet at our new pool! Make sure to get a lot of sleep and drink a lot of water this week. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Hi Gators!!! What a fabulous start to out 2011 season! After the Gator Gallop and our first meet against the Knolls I am very impressed with how hard EVERYONE is working. From the 13-18 age group to the pre-team group I have already seen improvement and enthusiasm!
A few of the many highlights from our first meet include Alexis and Kienan Linhardt, Izzy Schutz, and Bryce Johnson doing the 200 freestyle, it's a long one! I would also like to thank ALL of the kids who have been so great about helping he coaches with the equipment at practice. Good jib so far! Let's keep it up!!!

Congratulations on our first WIN Gators!  Everyone swam extremely well against Heritage Village this Saturday and I don’t think any of the 6 & Unders DQ’d this meet!

Grayson McGowan did terrific in his first meet by swimming a great 25 freestyle- FANTASTIC! Austin Linhardt flew through the water in his 25 backstroke and cut off 14 seconds- RIDICULOUS!  Jaxson Schmeling and Mackenzie McElhiney also shaved off time in their 25 backstroke- WELL DONE!  Everyone swam great and I am proud of every single 6 & Under!

-10s, what a spectacular meet this weekend!  We all swam so well and we finally won! Here are some of the big drops we had at the meet this weekend.

Nicole Seavall took off 2 seconds in her already super speedy 100 freestyle! Great job Nicole!  Rachel Green shaved off 3 seconds from her 100 freestyle as well! Impressive!  Meanwhile in the 50 backstroke Michael Sullivan cut off 2 seconds!  Nice swimming Michael!  In the 50 breast Allison Smith dropped 3 seconds and scored us some points! Wait to go Allison! As for Katie Carrothers, she removed 3 seconds in her 50 breast and 2 seconds in her 50 freestyle!  Stellar job Katie!   Geddon Galvin took off 3 seconds in his 50 freestyle with a very strong finish!  Nice work Geddon!  In her 100 IM Madelyn Matthews shaved off an entire 16 seconds! Remarkable Madelyn!  In her 50 breast Carlin Denniken removed 4 seconds, and still managed to drop another 3 in her 50 freestyle! Stupendous!  Similarly Megan Lepestsos shaved 6 seconds off her time in both her breast and her 50 freestyle!  Outstanding job Megan!  After dropping a fabulous 11 seconds from his 50 butterfly, Jacob Caulkins still cut 2 seconds from his 100 IM!  Marvelous job Jacob!  Also I would like to congratulate Matthew Phelan on finally completing his first meet of the season, and though reluctantly, swimming some very fast times.

Again great job at the meet this weekend 9-10s!  If you did not drop time that is alright just keep practicing and remember to breath less in your free and fly, and focus on legal kicking and strong pulling.  I hope you all have a nice weekend off and an awesome 4th of July.

Gators… what a great meet! You all looked awesome and we are so proud of you. We have been working so hard at practice and it shows… GREAT WIN!! So many swimmers dropped time and swam personal bests this meet… HOORAY! We saw great swims in the 25 freestyle with Sophie Ackerman dropping 8 seconds, Mya Thompson dropping 4 seconds, Joe Liberty dropping 5 seconds, and Walker Kurtz breaking the 20 second mark. Awesome job Gators!  Hayden Morrisroe dropped time in his 25 freestyle even when he had to swim it twice, way to go Hayden! The 25 backstroke was equally impressive with Taylor Kelly dropping 5 seconds… nice! George Caulkins rocked his 25 butterfly and Ryan Kane looked awesome in his 25 breaststroke… both boys dropped 2 seconds! Miri Griffin tried the 50 freestyle for the first time and looked great, and Kyle Carothers dropped an incredible 15 seconds in his 50 free… looking good! We also took first, second, and third in the boys 100 IM thanks to Walker Kurtz, Jack Seavall, and Jaden Schmeling… awesome swimming boys! And Megan Skirka dropped 12 seconds in her 100 IM coming in first! YAY!

We don’t have a meet this weekend so get plenty of rest and have fun celebrating the 4th! We are looking forward to our pool party next Wednesday evening from 5-6:30! Come with $5, your favorite ice cream topping, and ready to HAVE FUN!

Thanks for your hard work, Gators!

This past meet we had a bunch of swimmers trying different events and new strokes which is AWESOME! Sometimes this can lead to more DQ's, but don't get discouraged because we will keep working on our strokes in practice and get better and better! At Cherry Knolls three swimmers dropped an incredible amount of time in their 25 free. Claire Applegate dropped 12 seconds, Lindsey Reed dropped 11 seconds, and Julian Knight dropped 17 seconds... SO GREAT! Ryan Clifford swam the 25 breaststroke for the first time, and not only did he swim it legally, but he earned points for our team placing 3rd overall! In her 50 freestyle Bridget Gorder tried a flip-turn for the first time which is so great... thank you for trying something new!

This next meet is against Heritage Village so let's remember that hard work at practice WILL pay off in meets! Make sure this week you are getting plenty of sleep and drinking LOTS of water. Hope to see you ALL at the pasta dinner on Friday night to fill up on carbs before our meet!

Thank you for all of your hard work...

    -Lauren and Jasmine

Hey gators! Even though this meet was not our best to date, we still had some amazing swims! Here are some of the fantastic swims from Saturday:

In her breaststroke Katie Carothers dropped 3 seconds from her time!  Awesome job Katie! As for Braxton Reinders he shaved off a miraculous 13 seconds in his 50 freestyle!  In Geddon Galvin's 50 freestyle he took off 1 second and got down to a time of 45 seconds! Fabulous Geddon!  During her 50 freestyle Tia Widdowson cut off a whole 7 seconds! Also, in her 50 freestyle Abbey Johnson dropped 3 seconds! Nice swimming Abbey!  As for the 100 freestyle, Evan Reed continued to drop time and took off an additional 2 seconds! Way to go Evan!  On the girls side Gretchen Conley shaved off 5 seconds from her already stellar time!  When it came to the butterfly, we had Michael Sullivan drop 3 seconds and John Griffin drop an amazing 18 seconds!! Fabulous job everyone!

I look forward to our meet against Heritage Village and hope to see everyone there right when warm up begins at seven o'clock.  Good job gators!
